Questions 1-3

Narrator: Questions 1 through 3 refer to the following conversation with three speakers.

Man A: Alright, let’s go through the draft of the new product brochure. Overall, I think the layout looks professional. The colors really pop. Nice work on that.

Woman: Thank you. I tried to match the colors from our updated brand guidelines.

Man A: It shows. My only concern is the amount of text on the inside pages. It feels a bit crowded. Do you think we could trim it down, James?

Man B: Absolutely. I can cut about twenty percent without losing any key information. Some of the technical details can move to the website instead.

Woman: While we’re making changes, I’d also like to suggest swapping out the cover image. The current one is a bit dark. Something brighter might catch people’s attention more effectively.

Man A: Good point. Let’s try a few options and see what works best. Can you both have the revisions ready by Thursday?

Questions 4-6

Narrator: Questions 4 through 6 refer to the following conversation.

Woman: I’ve been reviewing our department budget, and we need to find a way to cut travel expenses by at least ten percent this quarter.

Man: Ten percent? That’s going to be challenging. We have three conferences coming up, plus the monthly visits to the regional offices.

Woman: I know, but head office is firm on this. What if we replaced some of the in-person meetings with video conferences? The technology has improved so much that it’s almost like being in the same room.

Man: That could work for the regional check-ins. We probably don’t need to fly out every single month. And honestly, it would save us a lot of time too. Those trips usually take up most of the day.

Woman: Exactly. Let’s start with the regional visits and see how much we save. We can reassess after the first quarter.

Questions 7-9

Narrator: Questions 7 through 9 refer to the following conversation.

Man: Have we finished preparing for the university job fair next month? I want to make sure we have everything sorted well in advance.

Woman: Almost. We’ve confirmed our booth location and printed the recruitment flyers. But we still need to order the promotional items, pens and notebooks with our company logo.

Man: Right, I remember you mentioning that. Have you contacted the supplier yet?

Woman: I sent them an email yesterday, but I haven’t heard back. The problem is, they need at least two weeks for printing and delivery, and the deadline to place the order is tomorrow.

Man: That’s cutting it close. Why don’t you call them directly? It might be faster than waiting for an email response.

Woman: Good idea. I’ll do that right now.

Questions 10-12

Narrator: Questions 10 through 12 refer to the following conversation.

Woman: I’ve been getting a lot of complaints from the accounting team about the new software we installed last month. Apparently, it’s quite different from what they were using before, and they’re having trouble with some of the basic functions.

Man: That’s not surprising. The interface is completely redesigned. I had to spend a few hours figuring it out myself when I first started using it.

Woman: I think we should organize some kind of training session. Maybe a workshop where people can ask questions and practice using the system.

Man: That’s a great idea. I’ve actually become pretty comfortable with it now. I could lead the session if you’d like.

Woman: Would you? That would be really helpful. When do you think you could do it?

Man: How about next Friday afternoon? That gives me time to prepare some materials, and it’s usually a quieter day for most departments.

Questions 13-15

Narrator: Questions 1 through 3 refer to the following conversation.

Woman: We’ve got a problem on Line 3. The conveyor belt stopped moving about an hour ago, and we’re falling behind on the order.

Man: I was afraid of that. I already called maintenance, and they said the motor needs a replacement part. Unfortunately, it’s on backorder and won’t arrive until next week.

Woman: Next week? We’re supposed to ship two thousand units by Thursday. There’s no way we can make that deadline if the line stays down.

Man: I know. For now, we’ll have to do the packing manually. It’s slower, but if we pull in some workers from Line 2, we should still be able to meet the quota.

Woman: Alright, I’ll go talk to the team and get them started. Should I log the downtime in the system as well?

Man: Yes, please do. I need to report it to the plant manager this afternoon.

Questions 16-18

Narrator: Questions 4 through 6 refer to the following conversation.

Man: I’ve looked through the draft you sent over, and I’m happy with most of it. The pricing structure is fair, and the delivery terms work for us.

Woman: That’s good to hear. Was there anything you wanted to adjust before we finalize it?

Man: Actually, yes. I’d like to revisit the termination clause. Right now, it says we need to give ninety days’ notice to cancel. That feels too restrictive. Could we change it to sixty days instead?

Woman: That shouldn’t be a problem. I’ll make the revision and send you an updated version. Would tomorrow morning work for you to review it?

Man: That would be perfect. Once I’ve approved the changes, we can arrange a time to sign.

Woman: Excellent. I’ll have it in your inbox by nine o’clock.

Questions 19-21

Narrator: Questions 7 through 9 refer to the following conversation.

Man: I’m going to have to flag this area here. These boxes are blocking direct access to the fire exit. That’s a serious violation of the safety code.

Woman: I apologize for that. We had a large delivery come in about an hour ago, and the warehouse team hasn’t had a chance to move everything to storage yet.

Man: I understand, but in the event of an emergency, every second counts. Exit routes must remain clear at all times.

Woman: You’re absolutely right. I’ll have these moved immediately, before you continue with the rest of the inspection. It won’t happen again.

Man: I appreciate that. Once they’re cleared, I’ll note it as a corrected violation rather than a citation. Let’s carry on to the next section.

Questions 22-24

Narrator: Questions 10 through 12 refer to the following conversation with three speakers.

Man A: Alright, we’re looking at the final blueprints for the lobby renovation. The main reception area is here, with seating along the windows.

Woman: This looks great. I was wondering, though, would it be possible to add a small coffee bar in this corner? I think employees and visitors would really appreciate it.

Man A: From a design perspective, that’s definitely doable. There’s enough space, and it would fit well with the modern aesthetic we’re going for.

Man B: I hate to be the one to raise concerns, but adding a coffee bar means installing plumbing and electrical outlets in that area. We’d need to bring in a separate crew, and that would push the completion date back by at least two weeks.

Woman: Two weeks? That’s longer than I expected. Is there any way to speed that up?

Man B: I can look into it, but I wouldn’t want to make promises I can’t keep. Let me get some quotes and get back to you by Friday.
